Despite a fair amount of planning, all our more exotic options for spring break fell through. So Kevin and I reasoned that a road trip was definitely in order. After learning that West Virginia's Snowshoe Mountain was our closest decent option for snowboarding, we quickly reserved a room and lift tickets. On our way up to Snowshoe, we stopped at Great Smoky Mountains National Park for two days of hiking and one night of camping. It sure was a good thing that we prepared well for camping so we didn't have to do something stupid like make ten trips in and out of McDonald's with a cup to fill our cooler with ice. Snowshoe treated us well with seventeen inches of snow in three days. I found out that I am not nearly as bad at snowboarding as I was in December and that my new board kicks ass! By the time we got to DC we were rather rough around the edges. Thankfully, Kevin's brother let us recuperate at his place and Luke lent us some carpet space for a night. We spent the rest of our days causing trouble. Our nights were spent instructing Christy and the rest of DC how to party like rock stars.
