I hopped a plane to London in a last-ditch effort to escape the surly bonds of a sweltering Ivrean ghost-town summer. Fortunately, there were more IDII bretheren in London for the summer than there were in Ivrea. With the aid of the very kind Alexandra and equally kind Shawn, floorspace was donated in the most kind of ways :) Each day I boldly set out into the city with a rudimentary plan at best and, at worst, no plan at all. I am convinced that getting delightfully turned about and lost on public transit, and then exiting randomly, is the best way to become acquainted with a city. Along with the randomness I did happen upon most of the usual tourist spots for a day or two anyhow, which was fine with me since I haven't seen them before. Among all the other great things, I got to indulge in curry dishes, cornish pasty goodness, and tasty breakfasts that are denser than lead in a good way. Overall, a very enjoyable trip with lots of great friends!

Path

Ivrea, Chivasso, Milan, Stansted Airport, Liverpool St. Station, Alex's Place in Kensington, Requisite Touristy Spots, Portobello Road, More Stuff, Shawn's Place in Whitechapel, Notting Hill Carnival, Camden Locks, Tate Modern, Other places I got lost in, and finally back to Italy

Soundtrack

It was raining a lot. Giant Drag, The Fall, Violent Femmes, The Walkmen, Dylan, Fiona Apple, The Cure, Lou Reed, The Pixies, The Dead, and Crass (hehe).

Note

Photo 34 is of the Touch Me exhibit at the Victoria & Albert Museum. IDII had some pieces in that exhibit, but I couldn't photograph them since I got caught taking photos by the security too soon. Also, sorry for the crappiness of some of the photos, I couldn't carry my good camera all the time since it was raining quite often.
